Default Need a recipe for 45 ACP

I need a little help finding a good recipe for 45 ACP. My book doesn't have the type of bullet I have in the same weight they are.

I'm using 200 gr (plated) lead round nose bullets. The powder I'm using is Unique.

Any suggestion on where I can find a recipe for this?

Thanks.

6.0 grains of Unique is a good load and safe to use with plated bullets.

I sometimes use a plated bullet for IDPA. My full power 200 grain plated bullet sits atop 4.9 grains of Titegroup. Very accurate load. I shoot out to 25 yards with the best of them with that load.

Keep in mind that is a stout load. Not max. But definitely not light.

Rainier Plated bullets should be loaded using Lead bullet data. If no lead data is available use low to mid Jacketed data.

Berry's plated recommend low to mid range Jacketed data as well.

Unique Data.
Remember Alliant data list a Max charge only. reduce by 10% for "Start" charge.

I found another source that says to use 5.1 gr of Unique for 200 gr LRN, so I guess that would be a good starting point.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

At one time, Rainier published data for their bullets.
Have a look:

File Type: pdf RanierMWdata-1.pdf (42.4 KB, 1102 views)
