Usually have no problem getting it here from local sporting goods/gun stores. However if your not close to a store try Shooting Supplies, Reloading, Gunsmithing, Hunting, Ammunition, Gun Parts & Rifle Scopes — MidwayUSA

Check your local pet supply store. It is commonly sold there as small pet bedding. All you need to do is add a teaspoon or capfull of NU-Finish and you are good to go.

Most of the ground corn cob I have seen in the pet stores is too coarse for use w/anything smaller that .44 cal. Is there a reason you don't want to use ground walnut? I use Lizard Litter (ground walnut) from Petco and have no complaints.

to me walnut does not give the shine that cobb does. I like walnut for cleaning range pick up brass then once I get it resized and trimmed I got for the high luster of cobb and Nufinish.

Try rice.

OK, it says message is too short.
Try rice anyway.

Tumbler media

Wal-Mart. In with the bird supplies. Cob Litter. Pellet's are a little on the big size, but work okay for me. Don't forget to add a couple TBSP of brass polish to it. Make sure your cases are COMPLETELY dry if you use this, as it swells up inside any damp cases and is a real bear to get out.

I use the cob pet bedding from Walmart but I only work with 30 Cal. or straight wall cases so the size isn't a problem if you need something smaller anywhere that sells blast media like Harbor freight,Granger will carry small grit cob media in the 1420 range or smaller. You might have to buy it in bulk but it will be a lifetime supply. You can also order it from here Green Products Company - Grit Products I believe they quote me a 40 lb. was around $48 shipped I got a free sample of the 1014 & 1420 and either one would work fine for 17 Cal. on up cases.
