It should be easy enough to get new brass for this cartridge. You can probably work up some nice loads.

Winchester is now selling reloadable ammo. Don't know how long they've been selling it, I think it's been a while though.

The Winchester white box ammo shoots pretty well and the brass is reloadable and works great. With all of the ammo and components that are available for this cartridge I for one wouldn't spend the time trying to work with brass that is Berdan primed. With a good custom load I think some great shooting might come from a Mosin.

I for one am not going to bother with even attempting to reload for my mosin, I already get great accuracy out of mine.

Thats news to me, Ive never seen it.. I looked everywhere and ended up having to buy two boxes of norma ammo....
I wouldnt be in such a hurry to reload for my mosin... But all I find surplus wise is the 150 gr. light ball and my scope is calibrated for 180 gr. heavy ball.. As well I found surplus ammo is not the most exact.. I took some 7.62x54 apart to make into Arisaka rounds.. Bullet weights varied 1-2 grs. powder varied from .5-2.0 grs. difference...

The Win. WB 54r ammo has been around a number of years S & B of the Czech Republic make the Win. metric brands of ammo including there 7.62 x 25 an 9 x 18 Mak. ammo S & B is usually cheaper than the Win. ammo both are boxer primed and reloadable.
Prvi Partizan is your best bet for reloadable brass it's also in my opinion a better quality brass and much thicker in the web area than the Win/S & B I use both brands of brass.
The biggest problem with getting great accuracy in some Mosin's is that the bullet dia. from various countries are the same size but the bore dia. in the rifles vary a lot.
