Again the Greek (HXP) headstamp is good, and Korean (PS) is OK.
The Korean (KA) is corrosive.

In general, just look for M2 Ball ammunition.
Nothing wrong with the Korean "KA" ammo. You just clean properly after shooting and there is absolutely nothing to worry about. If you are inclined to shoot a rifle and not clean it for a couple of days/weeks. Avoid the corrosive ammo

Didn't say there was anything "wrong" with it. Simply pointed out the fact that it is "corrosive". (Priming compound)
But I generally try to steer people away from using that type of ammunition who are new to the platform. But again, I'm not here to argue.

Dang, here we go. I did not mean "wrong" as in incorrect or unacceptable. Geez.
If you shoot corrosive ammo in any rifle, Make sure you do your research, understand how to clean up aftarwards and do so promptly.

Well, for anyone that wants ammo to shoot in an M1 Garand, why not ammo made FOR the M1 garand- the military M2 Ball cartridge. Yes, some civilian 30-06 ammo is loaded in such as way as to batter the hell out of the operating rod- and they are getting scarce and pricy. Where to get ammo loaded for the M1 Garand? Well, if you are a US Citizen, how about the Civilian Marksmanship Program? Link: Ammunition Sales

I shoot surplus ball ammunition. Here's some links to some sites to learn about the M1. As far as ammunition, I just bought the Greek HXP ammo when I could and just kept stocking it when it was available. Hornady does make a load specifically for the Garand, but it costs more than the surplus does.

Get out there and shoot that rascal, you'll probably fall in love. There just isn't another rifle like the Garand.
