I have two rifles in the same caliber so I use one for deer and elk hunting so I want to make my savage 110 into a long range target rifle. I used to reload with my grandpa and I was wondering if there was a long range load for it

I haven't had time to stretch the legs on the 7mm-08 that I built last year,but I've worked up several loads for it. I've always liked using Berger VLD bullets for long range shooting,they are some of the best long range bullets on the market. The only negative with the 7mm-08 is the lack of case capacity since it uses a 308 parent case,you can't get great FPS with the heavier bullets,and the lighter bullets can have problems with the wind.

You might try Berger VLD's or Sierra Matchking's,both bullets are very good,you'll just have to find out what weight bullet your gun likes to shoot best.

I normally shoot Remington core loct in 140 grain for deer and it groups really well
