Wal-Marts here have been out of cci's for a couple of months or they go so fast I don't see them. .40 is still easy to find though, shotgun shells galore, a few 9mm now and then, and .45 is gone gone gone......

I have 2 100rd boxes of .45 wwb's I'm thinking of selling if this doesn't change soon. I don't want a pistol I can't find ammo for or if I do it costs me an arm and a leg. I live on a budget ya know!!

Rifle about 1200 rounds; pistol 400 rounds, 22 about 800 rounds. Bullets powder primers another 600 rifle rounds. I have not had the money in the last few years to stock up. Some of this ammo I have had for over 10 years.

I've struck gold at Wal-Mart two weeks in a row, being able to purchase 6 boxes of a mix of Winchester White box and Federal Brass in .40 S&W at both occasions. That should keep my Glock 23 fed for a few months...

I've been told by more than one gun dealer that its because manufacturers crank out .40's for police, and then resize to produce the other bullet sizes. Which means there could be a shortage for a few more months...

The reason for the ammo shortage is because everyone is buying ammo now. I have friends who never owned guns who are now gun owners and shooting. Others who have always owned guns are now buying as much ammo as they can. The factories are increasing output and investing in more production, so just wait until the overshoot in production, it will be dirt cheap again unless the demand just keeps going up.

An easy way to avoid high costs at walmart is to not shop there. They are indeed the devil. I hate walmart. They are talking about stopping selling guns at walmarts around here. I wish they would just close their doors

Sure, their prices are going up, but their still 1/2 as much as every single ammo supplier in the city of Louisville. Until someone can compete with their prices, they keep my business.

Please see the wal-mart thread that was closed in the clubhouse before making ignorant statements like that, and don't derail my thread please.

Wal -Mart's ammunition is still very cheap compared to the rip-off gun shops around here.

$40 for a box of 9mm wwb's!!!! DOH!!
