Loaded my first 100 rounds this weekend. Rockchucker kit with Cabelas tumbler and RCBS Full length dies.
10 24.0 gr H335 55 gr vmax 2.250" OAL CCI 450 Magnum primers 10 24.2 gr " " 10. 24.4 gr. ". " 10. 24.6 gr ". " 10. 24.8 gr ". " All went bang in my AR and ejected at 4 oclock in a nice neat pile. Since the 24.6 seemed to shoot best I loaded the rest that way. Had a lot of fun loading. It's almost as fun as shooting them! |
Looks good. I also just got done with loading my first 50 rounds for my .357 about a week ago.

Those look really good. Congrats!

Thanks! The vmax plastic tip is easy to jack up if the bullets aren't sitting straight in the mouth. After deburring more thoroughly it was easier to line up. Boat tail .223 bullets would probably make seating easier.
Gonna try and throw one of these bad boys at a coyote tonight. |
24.8 of H335, Hornady 55 grain bt fmj, CCI400 primers has been sub moa in my grandsons Savage 10 (1:9) and 1 moa in my DPMS (1:9). Why did you go 450 on the primer?
|
My book recommended the magnum primer. From what I've read, it produces a more reliable load with ball powders like H335. It's recommended for BLC2 as well as a few others in my Speer manual.

I hope your ready for this addiction lol. I started out with the same kit and it grew from that one box of stuff to a room full within a few years! Be safe and have fun!!!
|
I'd get in on this if I could find primers! Nice job.

Lookin good! I'm thinking about reloading 12ga here pretty soon.
