I've run alot of plated Ranier and Berry's in the past, I always used load data for jacketed, ran some pretty hot. Never experienced separation.

No, Gold Dots are plated. Thick plated round nose bullets that are them formed into hollow points. That is how the trade mark "gold dot" is formed, by the hollow point punch. While Gold Dots are, in fact, plated, they are so thickly plated they act like jacketed.

The way it was explained to me was Speer says the jacket it “installed one molecule at a time”…..means plating technically and is also why there is no separation. Jacket is literally wrapping the bullet in copper jacketing. Either way they can be shot at a decent FPS and the work great so it makes little difference to me.

Exactly! There are some thick plated bullets available. Check PowerBond. Probably comparable to Gold Dots in thickness. Speeer UniCore is a Gold Dot that has not had a hollowpoint punched into it. Any bullet you see marketed as "total metal jacketed" is plated. There is NO way to COMPLETELY cover a lead core with copper w/o plating it.
