I buy all my Linotype off of E-Bay some good deals. Part of becoming a bullet caster is learning to scrounge scrap lead. :)

I wasnt able to buy them tho. I have my Lee melting pot, but haven't got into casting yet. Getting into reloading was higher on my priority then casting.

Thanks, MM. I'll keep a lookout.

I hesitate to just go buy lead online, because I really don't know if it would be as cost efficient as just buying cast bullets online... 7000 grains to a pound, 125 grains per bullet that I currently load, which means only 56 bullets per pound of lead I buy? Can that be right? It doesn't seem like much. I'm not be best at math.... Is that right?

Idk. I've never done the math. I save every piece of lead I touch (including pellets) and all that I mould is round ball. These other guys are gonna be more high tech than me. I mould my rounds over a fire in the woods with a 2 cavity mould a ladle and a piece of leather. Lol

I'd definitely help you out. But I'm not gonna be in NorCal until the end of November, then when I return to Cal I'll be near San Diego.

There is probably a Sims metals down south too. The one in San Jose sells used metals (including lead), but the one in Redwood City does not have any sales.

I am going to post a thread on ideas on how to efficiently and effectively mine lead from the outdoor range. Take a look.

When you post it, please link it here, so I can be sure to see it.

I don't always notice new threads, and don't always have the time to check every single new one that pops up.

Thanks.
