My question is how many bullets can reload with a one pound of powder
Im going to be using 55 grain for now

Find the load you want to use and do some simple math. There are 7000 grains to the pound. I use 25 grains of W-748 powder in .223 so I can load 280 rounds on one pound of powder.
YMMV as some powders call for heavier weights of powder.

As far as powders? I like W-748 and BLC-2. They meter well and give consistant charges. Varget has worked well for me in the past. There are 10 or more powders well suited to the task.

I like varget for target loads but its a stick powder so it can have issues metering well. For mass production i use winchester-748. 748 is a ball powder and meters pretty well.

Yup!
Just take 7000 and divide by the charge weight of your chosen load and that is how many you can make. Round down a bit to account for spilled powder and other losses.
