Default Hornady brass

Bought Hornady .308 168 gr A-Max Match ammo. Very accurate stuff. Thought, great, match brass to reload. However, found primer pocket too small. I have heard about this on military brass, but why Hornady? Accuracy, liability, common for match ammo, or just beachy.

Should be standard large rifle size, but may be tight. Try a primer pocket uniforming tool. I have found that Winchester tends to have tighter primer pockets than most. I do not see that much Hornaday brass.

Thanks. I was using a Lee priming tool on 3 diff. kinds of brass. All went in smooth till the Hornady. I did press harder but was worried about making a bang.
