I have recently purchased some Hornady AMax 75 moly coated bullets for my 22 caliber rifle. Has anyone had any experience with them good or bad. I have noticed that after three rounds one after the other my gun will chrony 100 feet per second faster with the exact same round. Is this a common thing or a coincidence. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

The only gun I ever shot molly coated bullets in was a .17 Rem. It got Molly fouling so bad that I had to fire lapp it to get it clean enough to shoot. I will not shoot Molly. Also try Sierra and Berger bullets, they both shoot better than the A max in my gun, not that the A max. was to bad eather.

To get the maximum benefit of moly coated bullets, you must completely and thoroughly clean the bore with powder solvent and then copper solvent.

Some shoot better, some dont....the moly changes the powder burning curve as there is less friction as the bullet accelerates down the barrel.

When I asked the guys from Hornady @ the SHOT show about moly, there main ballistic guys said they personally didnt use them ..a good hint !

Moly never really impressed me much. I tried them did the super cleaning and all that. The only thing I got was shotgun like groups. So I tossed them all and started over.
