The duty ammo is specifically designed for excessive penetration for LE. You aren't going to be shooting through car doors or barricades.
Although critical duty is not available in any caliber I use, it would be nice to be able to penetrate the walls and doors of my home if necessary. The wife and I together of course. Walls and doors give the bg a false sense of security. You can have a parking lot situation as well.

I prefer duty because I want to be ready for any situation. Don't get me wrong defense is a good round to. Everyone has there own preference.
