Default help with picking self defense ammo

Im not the best when it comes to picking ammo so I need help picking out some self defence ammo for my friend she walks to school at night so I want her protected I got her a 9mm so if anyone can help

IMO, the brand isn't near as important as the need for it to feed reliably in the pistol. and of the name brand JHP SD ammo should work fine for your needs as long as it feeds well. get a few boxes and try them out and see what works well in it.

They 115 gr golden sabers, 115 gr federal hydrashoks, and 115 gr Winchester jhp white box.

Thank you I am goin to buy a few boxes and have her shoot them to see if she likes the ammo and if the gun likes it

It will be more important if the gun likes it.. SD ammo is usually a little more stout in the recoil dept. She will want to practice with regular ammo, but you need to make sure the gun will function ok with what you carry.

I have Winchester Ranger T 147 gr for my 9 mm. Why? Because they have a good reputation for performance, and they aren't $3 per round. So I can afford to shoot some now & again without a payday loan.
Let's be honest though, most purpose built SD ammo will work.
The biggest issue is that it absolutely must cycle in the gun it will be carried in. Everything else is stats & opinion.
