Finally had perfect timing with the Walmart app. It showed .22 ammo in stock in one of the Reno stores. Took a chance and went there and scored:
Last box of Win 555 rds .22 $23
One box Mini mag $7.30
One box WWB 100 rds .40 $36

Three box limit hurt because they also had some .556 and other rifle rounds. Tough making a choice.

My score lately (that I am REALLY happy about) was I walked into walmart as they had JUST put up 500rd canisters of .223 ammo at $154 each, and as their policy goes, a customer could buy 3 resulting in 1500 rounds! I decided to only buy 2 packs, I couldn't justify spending about $500 right now, but 1,000 rounds is still a lot of shooting. I figured by the time I even get through this ammo this hype will be over with and I'll then be able to buy more.

What was funny was there was a guy who walked buy and not paying attention thought it was a canister of .22lr at $154. His reaction was "they never have ANY ammo here!" I muttered "well it's .223...." but I decided to let him go on being an idiot lol. Needless to say that ammo did not last long, roughly a half hour.

I am sincerely glad Walmart didn't buy into the hype, it's just tricky getting the timing right.

That Walmart app worked again! Most of the time it shows in stock late in the day it won't been shelved yet. I usually call and check. If they say they dont have any it will probably be stocked on the shelves in the morning because they haven't unloaded it off the truck yet. My best luck has been in the morning around 7-8 am. Scored 3 boxes of 9mm 100 rd federals for $21.37 a box yesterday. I am well stocked with around 2000 rds. So I bought them for a buddy. He was thrilled!!! Especially when one of my lgs want $26.99 for a box of 50.

Tula 223 at Walmart has been in stock lately for $5.27 box of 20. Gun auction last night saw boxes of 555 winchester 22lr going for $65 per box. The folks that didn't walk away muttering and shaking their heads stood in line to get what they could.

What a wonderful day!! Buddy of mine sakes if they could use my 200 and 300 meter range.. I told him yes. It turned out to be the US Army Shooting team that wanted to zero in their rifles and pistols. They left me a lovely parting gift:4 30 round magazines and 90 rounds of 5.56 Hornady Critical Defense Match quality. Happy days are here again!(at least for one day.)

For all of you in the Chicago area , cabelas in Hoffman estates just got Varget powder in stock. You have to ask for it because they won't put it out on the shelf. They have 45 lbs left. 2 per person. FYI

I was approached by a co-worker last Friday who was looking for ammo for her nephews birthday. Knowing I reload she meant to ask the previous day and was a little panicked. I asked her how much she needed, because I keep my range bag in the trunk in case I want to shoot at lunch sometimes. She responded with you have some here, now?? I said sure do - sold her two boxes for the current Walmart price. They were factory Federal and WWB 100rd boxes.

She told me today her nephew was super stoked after opening his presnet since he couldn't find 9mm anywhere right now, and hasn't shot in a long time.

It really felt good to help a fellow shooter out.

Walmart app worked again for me. Scored 3 boxes of 325 count Federal auto match .22lr's for $14.97 a box. The shelf was empty when I got there, so I asked the worker behind the counter if they had any and he said he would check in the back after I showed him on my phone it was in stock at their store. After a few minutes he came back with 2 cases of. 22lr and a case of 30 30. So I got my 3 box limit thanks to this app.
