I just bought some fusion ammo in 308 win 165 grain , anyone use this ammo that can tell me if it's pretty good stuff or not?

I've read some good reports on it.

Used some on a Sheep hunt 3 years ago and it was fair.

I know a few guys that swear by it. I've never used it.

I was just going to ask the same question - thought I'd resurrect yours instead.

The store told me this was a bonded bullet. Federal website suggests 2,700 fps at the muzzle.

Both of those are hard to believe, one because the price was low and the other because...well, it's a .308.

I was wondering if anybody knows what powder they use? Anybody ever put a Fusion .308 load on a chrony?

I thought the "Fusion" name was Federal's lower price ammo. Bonded bullet? Doubtful. Some report good results.

I have used it in 223, 7-08, 308, and 30-06 on deer, elk, and hogs and I am very impressed at both the accuracy and terminal performance. It is the ammo I recommend to all my customers. It performs as good if not better than ammo which costs twice as much.
It is a 'plated' bullet which 'bounds' the gliding metal to the core. Simple, easy to manufacture, accurate, and very effective at a reasonable price. It don't get much better than that. Federal has a winner here.;)

I don't often buy factory ammo but needed some to run a few tests. Yeah, I didn't think it was bonded, either, and that made me question the whole schpeel. But as long as it shoots decent, it'll do. Sounds like it's ok in that department.

Thanks for the feedback.
