Finger Nail polish for sealing primers ??

Has anyone done this? Any problems?

I think once nail polish dries, it's not very flammable.

Where I deer hunt it often rains. I usually seal the primer pockets with a small dab of nail polish and rub the exess off immetidately, leaving a tiny ring of lacquer that seems to seal well. Meaning, I've never had a failure to fire. Come to think of it, none of my un-sealed ammo has failed to fire either. ??

The commerical sealer that midway sells is nothing more than nail polish. I've used nail polish in the past with no problems. I quit using it simply because it isn't needed IMO.

the only reason to seal rounds is for long term storage outside vacuum sealing. or when you know the rounds are going to be subject to longterm submersion as in hunting in a swamp or maybe survival. typical hunting non-survival style its not needed.

Just don't use it on case necks too. I tried that on .44 mags one time going prospecting in monsoon season. Many .22lrs failed to fire, all the .44s did, but split all the case necks. Bad juju.

Sealing the bullet to the brass caused the brass to split? I would't think that it could hold that much pressure. Perhaps there was another problem?
