Default Federal HST 230 gr JHP 45 cal

Picked up a box of these at Palmetto Armory this morning and have never shot them but the counter guy spoke highly of them.
Any input ?

Tango,

The Federal HSTs are excellent self defense rounds! They have a phenomenal and impressive expansion. And shoot well! They do have some pictures of the HSTs expansion online if you google the round. In the compact models they do have some recoil since I have shot them in a Springfield XDS.
I think you will like them.

Before shooting them in any gun, make sure the gun had had several hundred rounds though it.

My carry gun feeds them great, every New gun has had some feeding issues. Put a few hundred down the pipe and they feed just fine.

You just bought the Corvette of SD ammo.

Reliable proven performer.

If the price was fair, go get more.
