Trez would probably make a choice of all of them for his Medusa!

The 44 mag is a boat load of large caliber fun, not to mention it makes for a tough hunting cartridge too.
The 45 Long Colt is a blast to shoot too.

445 Super Mag with 454 Casull in second and the 500 Smith bringing in the Bronze. What can I say I like big pistols and I cannot lie. Any one of the three sure make a mess out of varmints on the Farm.....

As I said, I haven't shot anything bigger than .357 Mag. I honestly feel like I'm missing out. I'll shoot the big boy guns someday. Haha

The 357 is just too versatile and common. A heavy load will do the job on deer, recoil is mild enough to shoot it all day. Shoot 38s for cost effective plinking. The 44 makes a good argument if you handload, but not everyone does. I've never shot a 41, but want to and might have voted for it if I did.

And I can load a light bullet with a light load that will kick like a 22. The 357 can do the 22 thing...but forget about the sledgehammer effect.
Pretty much sums up what I would say. Don't get me wrong I love both although I don't reload. I love the .44 magnum raging bull. If I'm wrong correct me but I believe the .357 is not legal for most deer hunts like .44?

I'd definitely say .357 magnum (flexible round, good for just about anything), with .22LR (cheap, easy to shoot all day long) as a close second.

It is legal in IL but not all ammo qualifies. You have to meet some velocity and muzzle energy numbers and not all factory ammo does. Anything in .44 meets the standards.
