I went with the .38 but my 686 is my current favorite. I like my light .38 reloads in it but do load some moderate .357s. A couple months ago it would have been .44 special for the same reason but the .38 is cheaper to load for and smoother to shoot.

I am the lone .41 fan as of now. The .41 shoots flatter than the .44, hits harder than the .357, recoils far less than it should. 170 gr JHC's at 1600 fps are screamers. 210 SWC's at 1000 fps are very mild.

The only draw back is there are no shot shells available. I developed a shot shell load using gas checks above and below the shot. Works very well, but is time consuming to load.

i guess my overwhelming favorite is the 357 Magnum, just because i have owned more of them than any other revolver caliber, but the 44 Magnum isslowly working itself up to that point. i have enjoyed my 44 magnum revolver so much since i acquired it and have worked up some very nice loads for it, that are pleasant to shoot in it.

Both a .357 mag and a .44 mag are high on my list of guns to get.

What kind of .44 mag do you have?

a Taurus Tracker 44 Magnum, with a ported 4" barrel and i added Hogue Monogrips to it for comfort. very fun to shoot.

i need to seriously add a 357 Magnum back into the collection. i have been lacking one for way too long.

What is your favorite revolver caliber? Personally, I've never shot anything bigger than a .357 Magnum.

But .357 is definitely my favorite, for pretty much everything. I reload for it, so the price doesn't bother me. IMO, it is an extremely versatile caliber.

I showed you mine, now show me yours.

(Please specify if you select other)
I'll go with the Dirty Harry camp. Have owned a 44 mag. Of some form or fashion since I was 18.

Nope sorry we can't change vote results

45 colt hands down. Its the only caliber I like in a revolver.

And thanks for getting the name right, no such thing as 45 long colt

Fair enough, I guess Jäger will just have to suffer.

I don't now why, but I actually like the sound of "Long Colt" more.

38 special for plinking 357 for home defense, I also enjoy 45 Colt at the range.
