Barnes TTSX is a tricky bullet to get to work right, or maybe Sierra just has me spoiled. I worked up a load in my Swede and tried in my 308 and 30-06 they seem to be hyper sensitive to seating depth. If I need more penetration I'll stick to my Partitions, Deep Curls, or Accubonds they are MUCH easier to get them shooting good.
the XTP bullets expand very well. i have dug some out of pine stumps and the expansion is great along with penetration. definately not something i would want to be shot with!

and yes, they do feed very well in my 1911's. all of them, with not one issue ever. i also load them in 44 Spl. and 44 Magnum as well.

I, too, am a bullet caster. For inexpensive "banging" ammo, nothing says cheap like a cast, gas check bullet.

Jacketed? Hornaday Interlock is a fine bullet. The 165 gr BTSP .308 is great in the .30-06. Remington 150 gr SP or the Winchester 150 gr PP both do well in the .308. The Winchester 64 gr PP in .223 is badazz in 'yotes and was chosed by one of the more popular gun rags as the best "patrol rifle" cartridge. Load over 25 gr of W-748 and shoot sub 1" all day.

i used mostly Sierra for rifle loads with some Hornady and some Speer bullets as well. i have been thinking about trying out the Barnes bullets for my rifle loads. they look pretty interesting and have heard lots of good about them.
Well I'm about to load up some Barnes TSX in 7mm-08 and .308 this coming week I'll keep you posted on my initial thoughts of development. My Girls deer hunt is mid November....

Same here but 3.0 grains of Red Dot
