Has anyone actually checked the price per pound for copper vs. lead? Ouch.

Any metal ingested by birds can kill them. Their gizzard won't process it. It matters little if their gizzard is full of steel shot or lead shot it's all deadly to them. Like someone already said the incidence is so low it isn't worth worrying about. As far as humans go you should be a little smarter than a bird and don't eat the lead.

The only thing that would even come close to lead as a good bullet is 24k gold,and i'm thinkin that might cost a lil more than you'd wanna pay.
