More common caliber ammo seen in stock at various places including 2 local gun shops.....and seems the WalMart and DICKS parking lot stalkers are starting to ease up.

Heard from a LGS source that a couple of the large ammo manufacturers are right in the middle of a MASSIVE production that should start hitting shelves in the next 5-6 weeks.

Time will tell, hang in there for you guys short on ammo. I think the #1 lesson learned here is:
STOP PAYING INFLATED PRICES AND SCOOPING UP EVERY BOX YOU SEE! It is right on the verge of returning if you loosen up your choke hold people

I moseyed in to Academy today and found a good stock of 5.56, 9mm and 7.62 X 39. They had a little .22 LR. Limited to one box per customer per day. I picked up a box each of Monarch 7.62 and Winchester .22

i am of the belief, that if 75% or more of gun owners would REFUSE to pay anything over the pre-panic prices for ONE MONTH, ammo would be back on the shelves and decently priced again.

this is going to last until the PANICKING stops.

BINGO! i have walked away from ammo i desperately wanted several times, simply because i refuse to ripped off. stop the panic, and the ammo will come back.

I believe things are getting better. Not back to normal by any means but better. I was in Cabela's on Wednesday and they had a good supply of American eagle 9mm, 40, and 45. They also had a good selection of powder on the shelves. The week before they had remington
7 1/2 and cci 400 primers. I walked in my LGS late last week and the had an entire shelf of Varget. I haven't seen that around here since Christmas. I would say in the next 2 months we will see huge improvements!

Amazing. Reading the same junk I've been reading since the end of 2012. "It's easing." "Don't pay the prices." Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Keep it up guys! It'll never be the way it was again but eventually you'll sorta be right...

.....soooooo
not sure what your point there was amist the sarcasm pal...but yes...ammo is beginning to re-appear, and hyper inflated prices are dropping. FACT. Saw it with my own eyes and Ive been monitoring this nationally since November. Im also encouraging people to STOP scooping up every box of ammo they see if they dont need it.

You may return under your bridge now

In Hocks defense...this point does continue to pop up here a lot..regardless of you're feelings on the issue...it is mentioned by someone on every ammo based thread at some point...hell, I have said it a time or two. I feel the same as you...ftr....I pass regularly on ammo but try to buy a box or two a week. I am also fortunate, though that I have a dependable lgs that always had what i need.

I have checked 2 walmarts a cabelas, gander mountain, and 3 gun shops on an almost weekly basis since late December 2012. From January to April you would have been lucky to find air rifle pellets around here. The last couple weeks there has been reloading components and ammunition at almost every place I checked. The fact that people aren't cleaning the shelves out within 5 minutes of being stocked tells me that supply is beginning to keep up with demand, at least around here.

I think its due to it becoming warmer and peoples interest are going in different directions. Fall and winter are all about hunting and shooting because its cooler and its that season. Spring and summer is all about water, gardens, getting the lawns growing and that kind of stuff. So I think we will start seeing alot more ammo and reloading supplies.
