Default Cartridge Resizing

Hello good people

Is there any reason that a 38 Special round couldn't be cut down to 38 S&W size and reloaded?

If not, what would be the best way to go about doing this?

Yes, there is. It is the wrong diameter. .38 Special is NOT .380 inches in diameter- it is .357. The 38 S&W is an older cartridge, and it is a true .38. It is NOT a .38 Special Short.

I have cut down .38 special cases to make 38 S&W. But, I don't use smokeless powder. I use a .358 lead bullet. I use FFFG black powder. You can't really overcharge it. There simply isn't enough room in the case.

I have a S&W model 1 that I use this for.
