If I could've bought it for a good price,I would've got it,but the owner wouldn't come off his price.
shame you weren't able to get it. i have been interested in the round for some time and have even looked at gun stores and gun shows and have yet to even see one in that chambering. it just seems like a very interesting cartridge. has some decent ballistics and have read good reviews about it over the years.

About 15 or so year ago, I oiled up several of my hunting rifles, put them in the safe, and developed a load for the .30-06.

I load 150 Speer boat-tail spitzer soft points to 2900+ FPS from a Winchester 70 XTR Featherweight. They group slightly under 1 inch. Remington 9 1/2 primers and a HEFTY charge of WW-760, in Lake City MilSurp cases.

That combo has taken two moose, several dozen mule deer and elk, and probably close to 30 antelope. All but one deer were one shot kills.

A buddy of mine recently got a .450 Marlin Thompson Center pistol and I'll be going with him to shoot it. It's gonna be interesting!

Default 300 Winchester Magnum

the 300 Winchester Magnum. now moving into the territory of the bigger boys! more recoil and energy and longer distance shots are able to be made with this 30 caliber magnum round vs. the 30-06 or the 308.

this one came along from Winchester in 1963.

that is true. the 300 W.M. was one of the last ones they came up with based off that case design.

The .450 Marlin WAS the last one built on the H&H mag. case, it is only about 12 or 14 years old, I think it was built back in 2000 !............
