I've saved literally thousands of dollars over the last 30 years by buying bulk through my club.

Lotsa folks do.

But there are bigger savings when a club buys for 50-75 people at a time.

You get some pretty good prices on primers, for instance, when you buy 250,000 in one order, or when you buy 100 pounds or more of powder at a time.

Anyway, just something to consider if you shoot a lot and are getting fed up with the current retail prices.:p

It depends on shipping and how much. Some years back when we lived in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and were shooting a lot of Trap, my wife and I drove up to Scott Shot in St. George, Utah. We purchased a ton of shot, (80, 25 pound bags of #8's), for just $12.35 a bag. At the time we bought it, the cheapest the gun club we belonged to could get it for was almost $16.00 a bag drop shipped to the club.

We got that price because we agreed to load it and take it off the parking lot ourselves. He placed a pallet containing the 80 bags right behind the tailgate of my truck, and we loaded it up for the drive home. I have a Ford F-150 and it made it with no problem. I had my air shocks pumped up to 110 pounds, along with good 31 X 10.5 tires. We distributed the weight over the entire 8 foot bed of the truck. We still have some of it left, and today it's going as high as $50.00 a bag. It was tough to put out that kind of money for shot, but we both knew it would get shot up in time. It's nice to know every time I pull the trigger on a clay the shot going out the end of my barrel is costing me just 25% of what the guy next to me is paying!
