Default Browning Safari 7 mm rem mag deforming the case

I noticed the other day while shooting the safari that the neck of the cases were deforming , They are ending up in a slight triangle after firing . no other bulges , no issues , everything seems fine other than that . Its not the ammo as I have tried a few different brands with the same outcome . Ill try to get some pics up of it . Any idears ?

Marine,

Get us some pics of the brass! I would not shoot it anymore until it is resolved. You are dealing with a lot of pressure with the 7mm Rem, Mag and not safe at this point. Sounds like you have a real serious problem here regarding the chamber, headspace or something critical in that area. I would be calling the company and also sending them a picture of one of the casings!

I presume you are talking about the BAR Safari. The brass is slapping the side of the receiver upon ejection causing the dents. Look for a small brass mark on the side of the receiver behind the ejection port. Not a huge issue unless the recoil spring is too weak. How many rounds through the gun? has anyone modified it in the past? Consider replacing the recoil spring if it really bothers you.

Its the barII or 3 , i cant recall this second but it does have the boss on it , I have only done a minor tear down till i got to the gas system and said the hell with it and lost motivation . I have only put about 20-25 rounds in it , I got it on a trade for 400.00 in boat work , Decent shape just dirty as hell . No binding , no fte or ftf . It looks almost like you take the round and try to bend it while its still in the brass and just bending it out on one side . I dont imagine it has had much over 50-75 rounds threw it , 30-60.00 for a box of 20 and the boss on the end does not qualify it for a plinker , great for Canadian geese @ 400yrds and grey squirrels but even with ear protection it still sucks after a while
