I think you're right. In fact, I think I saw that you can make 7.7 jap from 30-06 in "The ABCs of Reloading". That might be worth looking into Trez.

I know .30-06 can be made into 7.7, I have hundreds of cases ive converted... I just would like the "proper" brass.... I figure its something else to trade for & you never know what somebody might have...
Same with the .30-40, I dont have the '95 anymore, but plan on getting a Krag one day....

Is there anything you can convert into 7.52x54R? That kind of brass is hard to find at times, or unbelievably expensive. I'm going to have a "special" rifle made next year, and I need 7.62x54R brass to make the ammo for it.
Ya'll will know more about that rifle when the time comes.

Oh well, I'll find some eventually. I can't believe that 7.62x54R brass is so hard to come by, or so expensive (I've seen it go for as much a a dollar a piece depending on the brand ). I guess since there is so much surplus ammo out there, there wasn't really a need for brass.

I found some, but it's around the same price as some x54R brass, maybe a little more. Thanks though. I'll probably just order some new x54R brass when the time comes.
