At least I can find the 6.5 for my Type 38 easily. that will keep me occupied for a while

Ive found the best brass to be the Greek surplus... Plus all mine is from 1977 and have a "77" headstamp....

A friend of mine also told me to use 8 mm Mauser rounds, and fire form them to the 7.7 mm size. The only thing I have a question on with this approach is that the cases are 1 mm shorter than the Jap. rounds. Either way, the cases will be marked and kept seperate from the 8 mil and '06 cases that were not fired from the 7.7.

When you neck a case down it will grow in length. You may find the 8 X 57 once fired cases to be perfect length for the Jap ammo

That's what i'm hoping for. As soon as I can locate some 8 X 57 locally, my uncle and I are going to the range with the 7.7s to find out. Should be interesting either way. tha hard part around here is all I can find is steel cased or berdan primed. i do have a few boxes on back order at one LGS here in my area, just waiting on the e-mail to come in. The big game firearms season just kicked off, and almost every shop is out of most calibers, so he selection is quite slim to say the least.

I got some 7.5 swiss that I have no use for as I found it on the ground at the range and I don't have a 7.5 swiss rifle. Anyone interested?
