Antone here ever hear of 72 grain ap m249. This came up in a trade and ive never heard of it. Whats it worth

sorry- I am a little confused- do you mean ammo FOR an M249? Because I have not heard of an M249 cartridge.

The black tipped 5.56 NATO cartridge is the M995, and the bullet weighs 52 grains. They can be checked with a magnet (steel core). The SS109 was also steel cored. Do not recall any NATO ammo being 74 grains.

It could be that one. Ive nwver seen those are they rare, worth anything

Well the M249 is a gun not a cartridge like C3 said. So that's a red flag.

The only AP ammo I am aware of that can be privately owned is the M2 AP 30-06. And they don't even make it anymore. Red flag

Any AP ammo will have magnetic characteristics. If the ammo you are talking about dose not attract a magnet red flag.

And above all. When in doubt trust in C3. The man knows more about any gun or ammo than the people that created them.

Yea, he said m249 and i knew that was a mg ao i thiught that was op. I dont even want to mess with it if i cant privately own it. Thanks for the advice. Always when in doubt i ask you folks

Their are Federal restrictions on MAKING or IMPORTING AP PISTOL ammo. None on selling it that I know of. And just about any rifle ammo will punch soft body armor- it was made to stop handgun ammo.

Frankly, I don't think seller has a clue what he has, and I tend to shy away from a lot of those folks.

True too many red flags and the troubles not worth the cool factor.
