Fine...get a good size screwdriver. Hammer down the screwdriver into the edge of lid/top. Follow along the edge hammering down screwdriver. Bend back lid with screwdriver when you get far enough. Scoop out spam. Bend back lid if you are saving for later.

I'm sorry but I get a kick out of someone with gunsmith as their handle not being able to get into a spam can. Lmfao.

Well laugh all you want! I got in! Lol unfortunately I'm in the process of moving so all I had was a hammer and screwdriver. But I did it and I only cut myself once!
