Default ballistics

i was mucking around on line and found this, would this be a good basic generic source of info

RifleShooter Ballistics Charts & Tables

and one question for the ballistic gurus,i was told that for a good solid 1 shot drop you should have min of 800ft/pds of energy at whatever yrds your shooting so can i use this table for max effective range by looking at where the bullet energy is at 800.i know this info is not set in stone and lots of variables just looking for baseline
