That is a stepped tracer round, not armor piercing. If you went to 7.62x54r you should have known that.

It won't jharm your barrel in any way.

"Back in the day" I fired several thousand M2-AP through a 1903A3 and a Garand for practice. (In the fifties and sixties M2-AP was dirt cheap)

All good! Just make sure it has just rained if you shoot in the brush.

An AP bullet will stick to a magnet, easy test.

Most Russian ammo will stick to a magnet. They use a copper washed mild steel jacket.

ive seen so many people see the black on the bullet and think AP right away. Magnet test is really the only test to see if it has a steel core other than shooting at a piece of steel. I buy range bullets, so many of the 30 cal are steel core, wash them up and reuse them because nothing is deformed on them.

So many people can get a marker and make black marks on ammo. i saw a vender at gun show once, with a sharpie "making" AP ammo, i just laughed, but someone else saw it and told the show's promoter and they escorted him out with his stuff,

suckers who "think" that they want an old clunker bolt action for combat deserve whatever scams guys pull on them, in my book. A 10 year old kid can see that an autoloader is a much better choice. Why would AP matter, except for combat, hmm? You can plink with a .22 auto, so why shoot so much less (with the cost of any centerfire ammo)?
