I posted that link. The prices are good on that armor but the stuff weighs a ton according to the reviews. Obviously much heavier than ceramic but able to sustain more direct hits from rifle rounds. Every review I've seen has been positive. Like I said before, check out iraqveteran88 on YouTube. He does a thorough review on the ar500 body armor. That liner held up great and did exactly what it was designed to do. The website sells it for under $300 with the plate carrier. It doesn't say it on the website but the plate carrier comes from Condor. The carrier isn't operator quality but for a civi it looks just fine. Nutnfancy tested the condor operator vests/plate carriers and he really liked them. All in all I think the ar500.com plate and carrier package is a good deal if you can deal with the weight of the plates. For home defense it wouldnt be an issue for me.
