My dad was looking for some hollow point ammo the other day. The guy in Walmart told him that they didn't have any hollow point ammo because it was all going to the war.
LMAO !!

Ah the wisdom and sound advice of a Mart store employee , just send chills up my spine with every new story !!

I was once behind a lady in a KMart years ago waiting to get my hunting license .

All she had told the teenage kid behind the counter was she wanted to buy a knife for her husband .

Well he starts whipping out the largest Buck knives he has , The Skinner , The Buck Special and a few others , then we have the Bowie knife imitations and the Taiwanese made , "GI Joe single handedly killed the Ruskies" Serrated Combat knives with fishing gear in the handle and a compass tail cap .

I couldn't take it anymore and finally excused myself and asked the lady just what her husband would be using the knife for .

It would be a general purpose pocket knife so I whipped out my own little Schrade and said "Like this ?" to which she nodded her head and I pointed her to the exact same knife for $15 in a display case .

I tried ordering 210M yesterday from Midway--- they said they were out. In fact they had no large rifle primers at all.

Default Primers

Here are some numbers of stores here in South Dakota that have reloading supplies. It might be expensive but at least you can get stuff you need.

Cabelas Mitchell SD 1-605-996-0337
Scheels Sioux Falls SD 1-605-334-7767
Sportsmans Warehouse Sioux Falls SD 1-605-978-9800

Gas prices are killing us, so the stores are probably willing to sell and ship if they have customers to deal with. I would call Sheels first, they are reasonable, Cabelas second, Sportsmans also have a store in Watertown SD, don't have a number for them though.

I hope this helps if you need it. Good luck !

How long have you been reloading WildCatt? I read that you have been shootings compititions since the 60's, so I'm going to go out on a limb here are guess that you've been reloading for that long as well.

If so:
How much was a pound of powder back in the 60's? Was it hard to get primers late 60's, early 70's?

I'm guessing you consider someone like me a "newbie" having only been at it for 15 years-- I'd love to pick your brain on the subject of reloading sometime.

I don't know why everyone goes to MidWay! You should try http://Midsouthshooterssupply.com- they generally have everything in stock - and for less than MidWay or anyone else for that matter. They also package your order to save you money and will ship primers with powder to save you hazmat fee's - they are very customer oriented!

YW - I've been buying from them for 15 years and have only had one problem with out-of-stock small rifle primers last December. They re-stocked within 2 weeks however. Their prices are the best I've found.
