Those ammo cans are real good because they have a lock tight seal. I also use the ammo cans to store thinner solvent because the solvent will stay in there for ten years without evaporating.

I keep my high end defensive ammo in a safe and my other stuff in locked cabinets.

Guns go in the safe (other than carry gun), with ammo for one full load of defense ammo. I can open the safe and load whatever gun I need, right then. Bulk/extra ammo is in GI ammo cans in the shop.

I store mine in ammo cans. I usually only keep 3-4 boxes of each on hand right now though. I want to pickup a decent gun safe soon and then can keep more around.

Keep ammo in a big, locking, plastic bin, in a different location from the gun safes.

Guns (most of them) in the safe with some ammo in mags/ boxes, remainder in a "safe" (one of the wal mart jobs) just because of space issues. Would keep it all together if I had the lockable space.

All my firearms are locked in my gun cabinet. The only exception is my H&R 999 that I am fixing right now.

As for the ammo, it resides on a shelf in my closet. Some of it is in the original packaging, some in aftermarket cases and the majority of my shot shells are loose.
