I don't know, I reload everything I shoot and was fortunate to still have a butt load of primers and powder and bullets and brass when everyone went nuts buying this stuff up.

I also wait for sales from the wholesalers for my 7.62x39 and .223 .. last sale I caught was $199 / 1000 rnds of either one.. WOOT good day for me and my buds.

No problems at the local gun shops here, but prices are definitely up !
I try to buy at least two boxes of ammo a week to stock up. Now that I have three handguns it's going to be a bit harder. 45acp, 40 S&W, and 44Mag/Special. I'd like to have at least 300 rounds per gun stowed away, 500 would be even better. If I ever do get an assault rifle again, im going to keep a whole case of ammo on hand for that rifle.

hey tango...
a brick has always been 500 rounds, but you're right about prices; i remember when $5000 bought you a new cadillac, now it's a used yugo!

i see 7.62x39 prices stabilizing. a year ago it was $400/1000, now it's closer to $250.

we find ways to shoot that we can afford...if it means an ar-15 clone in .22lr, or loading our own and even casting bullets, so be it...

Default Ammo shortage

Walmarts here in southern Delaware have a pretty good stock including 380, 38, 357 and 40. 45ACP has just started showing with 50 round federal FMJ at 17$ and white box FMJ 100 round box for $35.

I was checking my local Wal-Mart ammo section out this morning and saw that they now carry Tula Ammo (Russian steel cased brand). 50 rounds of 45 ACP for under $15. I won't start buying that, but they also had the 7.62x39 for $4.49 per 20. That's a little higher than some online dealers, but no shipping charges makes up for it. Anyway, for some reason I just never thought Wal-Mart would carry cheap Russian ammo.

wal-mart will make $$$ however it may.

russian armories make their products attractive...hornady loads russian 7.62x39 steel cases with american bullets and powder to save non-reloaders a few $$$.

Default Ammo Price Gouging !!

Yep, just like with oil and gasoline your local gun shops are gouging the heck out of ammo prices. The shortage is over ! When you can choose between 3 to 5 different brands of ammo there is no shortage. Prices however in my area are still ridiculous if you ask me. A 100 ct. box of CCI Mini-Mag 22LR is $12.00 !
I've seen these online for around $6.55 a box ! Making more than double on ammo is ridiculous ! I could understand $8.50 or even $9.50, $12.00 is just too much markup if you ask me ! I know that everything online is cheaper but im sure stores like Walmart and Kmart have it cheaper. My problem is I live in Philadelphia, PA and Walmart/Kmart doesn't have ammo no more. Im just gonna have to go to Delaware I guess. It's not worth it to go to Jersey unless im buying bulk because of the $4.00 bridge fare. The one store I frequent here used to have the best prices in the city ! I guess all that went down the tubes in the past 10 years. It just makes me sick !

Factoring inflation...I think ammo prices went down.

Maybe just me thinking this though.
