I just noticed this weekend that my local Walmart prices are still the same (no complaints here).
I just got some ammo from the sportsmansguide, and the prices were the same as they were a few months ago...I think investing in ammo and fire arms is better then the stock market, they seem to always go up, and a lot more fun then investing in the stock market...

As much as I dislike WalMart (most of their products are made in China and I try to buy American (except for my weakness for Russian rifles) whenever possible) and they had the 100 round boxes of Winchester .45ACP (230 grain) for $33 per box. I bought many, many boxes.

I picked some HSM .38 Special Wadcutters reloads for 50 rounds for $13.99, regular price was $18.99; now the Blazer CCI .22LR was $16.99 and now is $20.99 for 525 rounds.

Looking the the ammo selection, some have gone down and other gone up. Take a bulk box of HSM .223 for 500 rounds normally $199.00 and now $219.00; about a 10 percent markup! I can live with it, might catch some issues from the wife.

Well, you could always get on GunBroker and sell your current stash for 100% above the current standard, in order to fund future ammo purchases. I'm only being half-sarcastic, because in fact you could do this with a number of calibers.

Price increases? You can't even find .223, 5.56 or 7.28 locally.

Note this thread started in 2011. Has little or no relevance today. Price increases are a daily occurrance now.
