That's what I gave at a GM in early December for 15 packs before everything went crazy. I still have 5 of them. Shot several and have sold a couple to friends for what I paid for them.

I probably haven't paid what I did but his prices on everything else were pretty decent and I wanted to help support a new privately owned lgs. He's only been open 3 months and from what I could tell in the first visit the best place to go in my area

I was at Walmart on Thursday and they had 600 round boxes of American Eagle XM855 stacked knee high that weren't out for display yet. Each box had 4 150 rounds boxes in, and they were $ 69.99 each. $.46 a round is no deal.

I didn't buy any, but it's nice to see it around again.

Everything here except .22 l.r. and you can get that if you are willing to be there at 8:00 at night, three days a week, when they stock the shelves. I feel strongly that there is a lot of favoritism going on with the distribution of the .22 in my area. When you can get it at Wally for $25.00 and sell it at the gun show for $75.00 there is just too much temptation for the clerks making $8.00 per hour. It will calm down when people stop paying the high prices.

i agree. these days everyone seems to think anything under 50 cents a shot is good for 223......i'm still stuck thinking the average price should be 30-35 cents a shot.....for american ammo!!!

I've been a reloader for 25 years, and when the shortage came up I stocked up on a few thousand lead bullets in several calibers. Now factory ammo is back, although at high prices, and now lead bullets are at risk due to the environmental PC stuff, and because banning lead bullets would make it more expensive to do reloading, as it would require using FMJ or JHP bullets, which cost a lot more. But that is convenient for the gun-grabbers, I guess.

I saw 5 boxes of American Eagle 62 grain .223 , 150 rounds for $70. I didn't buy any.

Is that a good deal?

not really. guess its OK for these sad times. i saw the same ammo and passed as well.

my go to range ammo at wal mart (before this mess) was a 100 round box of 223 federal that sold for $34.

its gotta be sub 40 cents a round for me to feel i go an OK deal on 223. getting american ammo for 30 cents a round was challenging, but not really uncommon right before this mess. russian stuff was going 20-25 cents a round.

I picked up some Remington .22 Shorts at Wal-Mart today. There was no more .22 lr but plenty of popular centerfire handgun and rifle ammo available.
