Yes. I heard from an inside source that Glock was currently looking at a backlog of in the neighborhood of 650,000 handguns, and over 1 million magazines. They are that backed up. Remember, every Tom Dick and Harry that sell the stuff went and ordered anything and everything they could at one time. Now the manufacturers are running almost 24/7 to play catch up and are saying that new orders are looking at 8-12 months lead time.

I wonder if there will be quality issues from manufacturing these firearms at max capacity? just a thought.

I would think not, because if there was a quality issue then any crusading lawyer would likely use that in a liability suit.

I walked through a box store yesterday and they only had three boxes of 308 on the shelf. I grabbed that, and two boxes of 44 special, not my favorite round. The week before I grabbed three boxes of 30-30 at Wal-Mart .

Do I need ammo? H%ll no. I am rolling in the stuff. My cache of 308 is respectable. All calibers I own (many) are all that way.

Why buy more? At inflated prices? Winter is coming my friends. What does one do for an approaching winter? Prepare.

I called the local Wallyworld this weekend to ask if they had some .44mag for a birthday present. The very helpful and knowledgable young lady said that they did have one box. I was very happy to get my BIL a box of .44mag 240 grain SP with "for deer and bear" on the box; i made sure to mention the bear part to him. I also picked up a box of WWB 45ACP (100 count) and a lil 20 pack of my favorite 9mm defense round.

I am thinking the 3 box limit is a good thing. The young lady at Wally's indicated that the ammo would've been gone by 7AM without the 3 box limit.

I did call a buddy to get some .223 to try out his scope on his squirrel gun.

Look, everyone seen this coming. If you didn't then you must have no idea what is going on and should work on your situational awareness skills. THe Goverment has bought TONS of ammo over what the military is using (they don't use JHP). The run on guns has been very huge just like it was the last election. And peopel will want stuff that makes the gun noisy so they will account for a boat load of ammo being bought up. The one thing I have not been able to account for is imported ammo. Last election a lot was stopped on the dock and helped the dry spell. I don't have any verification on this go round. I can say though I have seen very little import ammo in places where it was plentiful before.

Bottom line though the vast amount of people that said there is mop reason to have more than a box or two of ammo are getting EXACTLY what you deserve. Many people bought what they could to keep a stock up in case of another dry spell. Now the grasshoppers are pissed off because they want what the ants have. If/When this does clear up I hope there will be more grasshoppers that evolve into ants.
Now this ant needs to go to his load bench and make some more stuff to tick off the grasshoppers.

Does it bother you that some folks were smarter than you??

Don't try to blame other shooters for your own failure to plan ahead. Learn something from it and be prepared next time.
And you trust 20 year old ammo??? If I were you I wouldn't get it mixed up with your personal defense rounds.

Why? If it's stored well it can last a very long time.
