@11b - thats a good view point. We talked about that scenario of her needing to learn to handle and use the pistol in my absence. She did agree that once I do get the pistol she would make an effort to learn to use it properly. Shes not gung-hoe about it but understands.

I think what we'll do is head to an indoor range, after our baby is born, and have her try out a few different calibers before I purchase.

My wife (girl friend at the time) was strait out of Chicago with your classic Chicago democrat view on guns. I practically forced her to the range. At the time I had a g21 and was worried it would be too much for her. She absolutely loved it. I am pretty confident that once you get her to the range and let her feel "the power" as wife put it, she will change her toon! Best of luck!
