Default 9mm AR

I know there a uppers available for 9mm Luger. I was wondering if any one has brought out a 9mm about the same length as the 5.56x45? I was looking at some brass today and it looks like the case could be blown out and loaded with something in the 9mm or the .357 range. Like a 357 Max but rimless. should be an interesting 100 yd round.

I had a Colt 9mm AR several years ago. Fun gun, but I needed the cash and sold it for a handsome profit. Conversions are available as are complete rifles. The 5.56 versions are the lions share of the market so that is most of what is currently made.

As far as caliber, how about 9mm Win Mag? I do not know of any ammo currently available, but Starline makes the brass. Could be interesting, but the blowback, unlocked breech system of the 9mm Luger AR's would have to be beefed up for the higher energy Win Mag.

You have to go back to about 1907 for that.

I guess it would be an updated version of the 351 but loaded to more modern pressures. Gas operated not blow back. The 357 mag 158 gr comes close to 2000fps in a rifle. I am thinking you might get over that. Lots of bullets available including pointed ones.
