I use that same load under a 140 grain lead cast semi-wadcutter. Shoots great out of a Ruger P-95

That's my Idpa load for g34. Pisses my buddy off something fierce.

He has to go 3.5 to get the same velocity from his 5" Springer 1911

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?

I know a lot of the IDPA guys are going to the 40 because they can shoot a much lighter load and reach the power floor. I shoot a 1911 in .45 myself. I use a 200 grain lead cast round nose flat point over 4.9 grains of titegroup.
Super Accurate, very controlable.

Sorry. I got a little of topic.

I've used 5.0 gr of Univ Clays with a 124 gr bullet. Works like a charm in my Glock 19. I think 4.2 is too low. Check a couple of sources for load data. But there has been some excellent powder suggestions here.
