Default 9 mm issue with reloading

I have a sigma 9 mm reloading hornady fmj,115
4.2 grains of clays universal powder my gun won't always eject the brass like factory loads the cases are all with in speck
What it seams like I need more powder but the hornady reloading book says I should not use more power with out cautioning what do I need to do it would not eject any with only 4 grains of powder
With 4.2 grain it ejects some of the brass so what do I need to do

+2 on trying another powder. 5 grains of Unique behind the 124-grain Hornady XTP works real good.

I "assume" you are using Universal and NOT Clays. Clays is a very fast powder that likes to blow up guns if you use just a "little" too much. Universal is down with Unique as being an excellent general purpose powder.
The following is the data I have compiled. Start at 4.0 and work up to about 5.0gn. I would "guess" that at 4.2-4.4gn, your gun will begin to fully cycle. Somewhere betwenn 4.5 and 5.0gn you will probably find the most accurate load.
Also, when you mention powders on forums, most people will try, being the friendly and helpful people they are, to convince that some other powder is far superior.
Bullet Weight Powder Weight Velocity Note Power Factor COL
FMJ/JHP 115 Universal 4.0 1000 Start 115

I use Titegroup or Hp-38 for reloading 9mm.
