9 mm issue with reloading
I have a sigma 9 mm reloading hornady fmj,115
4.2 grains of clays universal powder my gun won't always eject the brass like factory loads the cases are all with in speck What it seams like I need more powder but the hornady reloading book says I should not use more power with out cautioning what do I need to do it would not eject any with only 4 grains of powder With 4.2 grain it ejects some of the brass so what do I need to do |
try a different powder.

clays is my go to powder i load it in my 44 mag 9mm 38 & 357 and 45 acp its always work great but all i shoot is lead bullets

I "assume" you are using Universal and NOT Clays. Clays is a very fast powder that likes to blow up guns if you use just a "little" too much. Universal is down with Unique as being an excellent general purpose powder.
The following is the data I have compiled. Start at 4.0 and work up to about 5.0gn. I would "guess" that at 4.2-4.4gn, your gun will begin to fully cycle. Somewhere betwenn 4.5 and 5.0gn you will probably find the most accurate load. Also, when you mention powders on forums, most people will try, being the friendly and helpful people they are, to convince that some other powder is far superior. The powder I am using is hodgens universal clays technology hop that helps you deturm what I am downing wrong

I use Titegroup or Hp-38 for reloading 9mm.

I run 3.2 gr of titegroup under 147fmj. No problems.
