Default 7.62x51mm ball ammo

I got a box of ammo from a friend, it is FNM 7.62x51mm. I was wondering what anyone knows about the stuff. I know that it is Portugese. What I am wondering is what the bullet weight is, also there is a large black dot in fromt of ball, is that the marking for FMJ? On the headstamp it says FNM 76-29, what can you tell me about that. Thanks
