6.5x55

I have been loading for a couple of sportered sweedes for a few years, but mostly aimed toward hunting ammo. Favorite loads for that are 129 Grain Hornady over 44 grains of IMR 4350, and 120 grain Nosler Balistc tips over 44.5 grains of RE-19. Both are pretty accurate and have proven to make deer and pigs DRT. Now I want to put togeter some target loads and was wondering what others are shooting.

look at Sierra Match Kings and Hornady A-max bullets. That is all I can offer at this time.

I really don't use my hunter for target. I use my Military Swede's. I have a little trouble w/ 140 and above in my hunter, the troat is shorter and tighter than my military rifles. If I bevel the outside of the case mouth I find it cycles easier. 140gr Hornady SP and 160gr RN are excellent in all my rifles. I Did have 500 140gr Speer SP that I bought for $40.00 a few years ago. I have 100 left. They shoot very well. For target handloads, I use Norma brass. Graf is VG also. For My M41b I only use Swede surplus. I was given 20 Sierra 140gr BTHP matchking that were 1 ragged hole w/ the same 140gr recipe I have always used @ 100 yards. Pricey for everyday range bullets though.

Both mine still have Milatary barrels/chambers, I figure to go with the heavier bullets get them seated out closer to the lands. I am thinking about going with some faster burning powder also, maybe 3031,4198.

Nope, wrong way to go. On lighter bullets I use 4064, 140's+ 4831. If you want some clues, ask.

Edit: lets see if this takes.
