Tyrant,

Check out Cheaper than Dirt! They have been running some decent prices on ammo if there is such a thing these days! Also a good gun show which sometimes has good deals on non-corrosive primer 5.56 ammo.

Mr. Rant,

You have an open ended question.
What do you plan on shooting? 4 legged beasts, 2 legged beasts, cans in the back yard, targets at 100 yards/500 yards/a thousand yards, or something else?
Each option will give a different answer to some degree.

As you have not mentioned reloading, nor will I (that is the best option in my view).

For hunting, beasts to eat, soft points.
Long/longer ranges are better served by heavier bullets.
Up close, anything under say 150 or 200 yards, it really doesn't matter as long as other needs are met, just about any weight of bullets will do.

So Ty, go with what you like or things you like.

I would try a little of everything to see what my weapon likes and go with that or those. But then, I only shoot my reloads.

Mr. Rant,

The 77s should stabilize well out of your 1 in 7 if you keep the velocity up... Oh, ya, your not reloading.... Forget keeping the velocities up.

As stated above and I fully agree, 'Gun Shows', 'CTD', and check the usual on line sources. This as well as most other forums have a classified section, check them out. There are some good products being offered.

I question two items. Just why aren't you thinking about reloading? And do you actually need to go with 77 grainers? But that is your business.

I hope you are just wasting your time stocking up for a SHTF action, boy do I hope I don't ever need any of my stuff for that. Keep a clear head and your eyes open. Good luck, we all need that.
