Lee Specs give the Minimum OAL at 1.19"!

NOW WHAT!?!?!?
im still thinking your case length without a bullet is still too long it should be no longer than .898 i trim mine to .888. there is no way that a over all length with seated bullet of 1.19 is hitting the rifling. try chambering an empty case with no bullet. pull one of the problem rounds and try loading the case. all 45acp chambers are at least 1.230 long as a minimum.

one other possibilty the bullets maybe .458 instead of approx .451-.453

Cases are within spec. between .888" and .898". Empty case drops easily into barrel below shroud.

Bullet Dia. is .456". Length of the bullet is .602"

do i have the wrong bullets for the .45 acp and more styled for the .45 colt?

that is liekly to be it. 45acp uses bullets in the .451 to .452 diameter. those are liekly for 45lc. although the 45 colt can still use 451 bullets. most 45acp 1911s are cut to use the .451/.452 bullet. 45lc chambered revolvers and lever guns are cut to use .456 bullets. 456 bullets can also be used 45-70 and other rounds that use 458 diameter.

that would explain why the round isnt chambering even though your oal and cases are in spec

DAMN!!

That means i have 100 useless bullets!!

Anyone have 100 .451 bullets they want to trade for a 100 .456??

On the bright side....i am glad i am as careful as i am and asked as many questions as i did....could you imagine the catastrophic results had i just said "pizz on it" on tried to run one thru?

OK, picked up some .551 JHPs. Cases trimmed to spec i am still have to seat the bullets to 1.20 to get them to drop in to the barrel of my 1911.

Are these gonna be safe to shoot??
