Default 410 single projectile loads

Looking on this forum and on others I found a lot of information but not what I am looking for. During the 22 shortage I changed most of my 22s to 410/ ammo available and reloadable, but with a 22 I can reach ranges at lot further like 30-50 yards. Hears my problem, at 30+ yards the spread of shot is so much that I would not hunt anything at that range to inhumane, and there's no molds for 410 slugs. So using buck shot or 40 cal bullets I want one projectile that has range of 50 yards or so (no need for anything farther), and cant really find any information on how to reload something like this, any help would be of great help.

Know any machinists? Someone that works in a machine should should be able to make a single cavity mold for ya.

E-bay may have older slug molds. I'm not sure if Lee still makes a slug mold for .410, but they probably did at one time.

Over on gunloads.com, this was discussed -
One post might be useful to you:

"someone took a 41 mag cast 210 semi wadcutter, turned it around backwards, glued the nose into a ballistic products stump wad and made a decent looking breneke type slug."

Seems to me this might work, IF you don't have too tight a choke on your .410, because these have no rifled lands to squish down at the choke.

If your NOT going to have any rifling you would be better off with a 80gr. .375 RB in a wad, probably go straighter further................

The OP said 50 yards.
Rifling on the slug which may have some very limited effect on slug accuracy (check the Remington Acu-Tip), would have zero effect at 50 yards.

I would have suggested the Remington Acu-Tip but you can`t get em in .410 only in 12 & 20 gauge....................
